Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 (April 28, 1923 - May 7, 2010 in the USA) was an American singer and actress. She was a part of films in the 1940s and 1950s[2] as also on television in 1950s and 1960s. Under the name professional of Adele St. Mara, she won a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation requiredand gained experience working in the studio's "B" films and comedy shorts. Later, the name was changed to Adele Mara. Mara began her career as a receptionist in the Three Stooges movie I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks as well as Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters as Rita Hayworth's character in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in the role of the sister of the wrongfully accused and exiled prisoner. The film was released by Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was removed. There she worked in the genre of westerns as well as outdoor adventure. She was a part of in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar was John's love interest, California Passage as well as Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
